The DeGood Foundation is the home of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the Middle Peninsula and Hampton Roads areas. For over 25 years, the Imagination Library has demonstrated the power and impact of gifting a book in the mail to children from birth to 5 years old. These books inspire a love of reading so all can dream more, learn more, and be more. Gloucester County has 776 children enrolled in this program. Recently, Abingdon Ruritan Club members Josie Langford and Wade Bunn and their 5 year old Grandson, Bo Langford, met with De Good Development Coordinator Catherine Hale Elliott and presented a $1500 donation to her. The Abingdon donation will provide books for 1 year – 1 book a month to 64 children. Bo, who just turned 5 and has a deep love of reading, participated in the program from birth and will no longer be eligible, Josie, Wade, and Bo are shown in the photo with “Dolly.” Photo by Danny Privott
