Throughout the year, the Salvation Army offers traditional Emergency Assistance such as rent, utilities, clothing, food, and furniture to residents in need in the Gloucester and Mathews area. Services also include Christmas Assistance, Back-to-Back School supplies, and Summer Camp. Abingdon Ruritan Club supports this organization by annually making a monetary donation. Recently, Club Director Betsy Tuttle on the left presented a donation check in the amount of $2000 to Tanya Buck, Salvation Army partner.
